May Chang oil is similar in scent to lemongrass essential oil, although the aroma is not as strong and is sweeter.
Native to China, Litsea cubeba (May Chang) has been used traditionally to treat asthma, back pain, and digestive ailments. The oil is said to help relieve fatigue and stimulate the senses. Because of its natural astringent properties, it shrinks pores and smooths acne-prone skin.
May Chang is used as a fragrance in air fresheners and room sprays, soaps, deodorants, colognes, toiletries, and perfumes.
